Urquillos Hike 1 Day

At Peru by Locals, we are always looking for new adventures and beautiful less explored places for you to enjoy, Urquillos is definitely a unique and less crowded hikes in the Scared Valley of the Incas offering you spectacular vistas to Urubamba mountain ranges, water falls, Original inca trail and Inca ruins, it is considered as an easy average hike since is all downhill starting in Chinchero archaeological site and finishing in the Huayllabamba town.

We recommend this hike as a training hike if you are going on longer treks in Cusco such as Inca trail. Salkantay trek, etc, or simply if you want experience a day hike with no camping. Also  recommended for families with kids.

For starting this hike we can eather pick you up from Sacred valley hotel or Cusco and does not effect on the cost. Also If you are staying in Cusco then after this hike you will stay in the Sacred Valley we will drop you off into your hotel by the Scared valley.

Location: This trip starts in Cusco city or Sacred Valley at your request, you will need to fly to Lima which is the capital of Peru, then to Velasco Astete of Cusco airport which is a small domestic airport.

DAY 1.- CUSCO – CHINCHERO – POC POC WATER FALLS – URQUILLOS

We will depart the Cusco hotel at 08:00am for 40 minutes drive to Chinchero town that is trail head, where we finish the last preparation for the hike, we stat right away in the remaining of the Incan city and follow the Original Inca trail that was paved with stones and lasted for centuries, we will have a guided here before starting our journey, our hike to the water falls of Poc poc is about 1 hour and half through lash valley, with small agricultural farms, small water falls and some local medicinal plants that are still in use nowadays, after enjoying our time in the water falls  we will continue our trail towards Urquillos for about 2.5 hours having a beautiful to snow mountains, where we will meet our driver who will transport us to your hotel in the Sacred or return to Cusco.

Note: This hike  can start with the pick up in the Sacred Valley and finish in the Sacred or start in the Sacred Valley and finish in Cusco or the other way around with no extra costs as long you let us know in time or your booking.
